| Full time, Home/EU undergraduate students enrolling at university for the first time will no longer be required to pay full tuition fees at the beginning of each year. Universities in England will be able to charge tuition fees of around £3000 - £4000 a year to full time, Home/EU undergraduate students. This may seem a large sum but actually the whole financial package has some significant benefits. This arrangement means that students will not have to pay tuition fees until they start to reap the benefits of continuing their education. That is, when they are in well paid employment. An individual's tuition fees may be covered by a loan via the Student Loan Company who will pay the fees direct to the universities and therefore a student will not have to pay the fees upfront, unless, of course, they prefer to do so. Students may also apply to the Student Loans Company for a loan to help cover living expenses. The amount entitled will depend upon an individual’s circumstances and is partially means tested. | |
